Please note: This is the SECOND time I have had to post this message
because NET IDIOT and USENET VIGILANTE clewis@ferret.ocunix.on.ca did a
third-party cancel on the first one.  His roving killer spambot decided
(again) that my message was spam.  I will see if I can edit out the WWW
address in the body of the message (!) that seems to have triggers his
bot.  Bloody moron.


Week 2:

As week 2 comes to a close, I see that we have won many victories.  Though
it's hard to tell because of the sheer number of spams by a very few
individuals, the spam has almost disappeared.  This evening, my sum total
of e-mails to postmasters for a 24 hour period was *five*.  This is down
from 15-25 a day when I started.

Unfortunately, the victory celebration was destroyed by a massive barrage
of heavily calibre spam artillery from gte.net.  As you have no doubt
noticed, they have dumped in excess of FIFTY badly-spelled spams on us in
the last 24 hours.  Without them, there would be only five.

Action taken: I have sent mail to postmaster@gte.net warning them that the
spam must stop *immediately*, and if it does not, in the immortal words of
Robocop, "there will be... trouble."

For anyone who is interested, the spam refers to a web dirty-pictures site
which you can see at http://207.(filler added to fool spambot)70.214.2/
(filler added to fool spambot)clients/16.html.  This site is
run by ITC Entertainment Co. under the name "sex.zilla.com".  I connected
to it and found that it doesn't even work properly.  I tried to send them
a comment using their "send us a comment" and not even that worked.  So,
they dumped 50 pieces of spam on us to promote a malfunctioning sex site. 
Lovely.

On an up-note, I see that we have received not a single piece of spam from
fm-net.com, which was previously our biggest spammer.  I sent them a piece
of mail asking them nicely to stop and explaining the reason why spamming
us would not earn them a single red American penny.  Though I received no
reply, it seems to have worked, knock-on-wood.  Ever vigilant, I remain:
